Summary
GARCIA CARRION is the absolute leader in the wine and juice market in Spain. It is the first winery in Europe and the fourth in the world. It has internationally recognized brands such as Don Simón. And, in 2019, it has been voted the Best Winery in the World in the Wine Champions League. Its commercial activity extends to more than 150 countries on 5 continents.
The origin of the company dates back to 1890. Currently, GARCIA CARRION produces wines in more than 10 Designations of Origin throughout Spain. It has its own wineries and vineyards throughout the peninsula and has D.O wine brands such as Mayor de Castilla, Viña Arnaiz, Marqués de Carrión, Antaño, Señorío de los Llanos, Pata Negra or Jaume Serra. All these brands have a maxim of GARCIA CARRION: wines of exceptional quality.
To achieve the goal, a significant investment has been made to implement the most modern technology in all its wineries. The application of this technology has allowed GARCIA CARRION to reduce its operating and logistics costs while continuously improving quality..
OBJECTIVES
- Integration of a sequencing tool on the same SAP platform (replacing the previous non-SAP sequencing tool)
- Improve the management of production planning in the different plants using PPDS in S4 HANA
- Automation of the planning process in the different production lines
- Reduce the time of each planner in the preparation of the weekly productive plan
RESULTS
- Through the optimizer, the sequencing times of the production plan in the different production lines are reduced
- Performing all planning tasks from a single graphical table
- Implementation of different custom functionalities (order cutting, automatic partition assignment, semi-elaborated sorting heuristic...)
- It allows to work in single-level and multilevel scenarios (semi-elaborated and finished product), making planning at all levels
- Relationships between orders of different productive levels (semi-elaborated and finished product) can be established
- User-friendly look and feel of the graphic table (colors, keypad, screen layout...)
- Real-time production progress visibility
